Drafting contracts in two languages

A sales contract is a key document that records the terms of the transaction between the seller and the buyer. A properly drafted contract ensures the protection of the rights of both parties and minimizes the risk of disputes.

In Northern Cyprus, the official language is Turkish, so all government documents are issued in this language. Since many of our clients do not speak Turkish, we offer the possibility of drafting contracts in two languages: Russian and Turkish or English and Turkish. The Turkish version of the contract is mandatory.

When developing a contract, it is important to consider the following aspects:

1. Party details: The full details of the seller and the buyer are specified.
2. Description of the goods: A detailed description of the subject of the transaction, including characteristics and quantity.
3. Price and payment terms: The cost of the goods and the methods/terms of payment are clearly stated.
4. Delivery time and place: The terms of delivery and the place of receipt are determined.
5. Rights and obligations of the parties: The obligations and rights of both the seller and the buyer are described.
6. Warranties and liabilities: The guarantees on the goods and liability for their quality are established.
7. Force majeure: Circumstances are stipulated that release the parties from liability for non-performance of obligations.
8. Dispute resolution: The procedure for resolving possible disputes is indicated.
9. Additional terms: Additional agreements that the parties want to include in the contract are possible.
10. Signatures of the parties: The final stage is the signing of the contract by both parties.

These elements will help protect the interests of both parties and minimize the risk of disputes.
