After purchasing property in Northern Cyprus, an important step is setting up water supply. This process is managed by the local municipality (in Turkish, Belediye), and each area has its own administration.

What is needed for a water connection

To set up the connection, you need to:

• Contact the local municipality corresponding to the property area;
• Register as the property owner;
• Pay required deposits and fees.

Expenses after connection

After connection, monthly bills for water consumption and utilities will be issued. These include:

• Garbage collection;
• Street cleaning;
• Other administrative expenses.

There is also an annual property tax to be paid.
