After purchasing a ready-made property or completing construction based on an individual project, it is necessary to apply for an electricity connection. This process is handled by the state company KIBTEK, which has branches in every city in Northern Cyprus.
What is required for the connection
The following documents are required for the electricity connection:
- A purchase-sale agreement registered with the Land Registry and the Tax Committee;
- Signature of the lawyer who prepared the agreement;
- The owner’s passport or a power of attorney for a representative;
- Payment of a connection deposit — currently around 12,000 Turkish lira.
Connection Timeframe
The connection timeframe usually takes from 2 to 5 working days after submitting the complete set of documents.
